A foreign consumer goods company is looking for an ER Manager. The chosen applicant will lead employee relations activities, including labour union engagement, collective bargaining, employee relations cases and labour-management consultation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead labour union engagement and collective bargaining, including negotiation strategy and preparation
  • Manage complex employee relations cases, including grievances, workplace investigations, misconduct and disciplinary matters
  • Advise HR and business leaders on employee issues affecting retail and store teams
  • Oversee the Labour-Management Council and related consultation processes
  • Review employment rules, HR policies and ER procedures to ensure compliance with Korean labour laws
  • Support clear employee communication during organisational and policy changes, and strengthen ER practices through manager coaching
  • Communicate significant ER matters, risks and recommendations to global headquarters

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • More than 8 years of relevant employee relations or labour relations experience, with strong hands-on case management skills
  • Multinational company experience and confidence working across multiple business units
  • Strong knowledge of Korean labour laws, with experience in investigations, disciplinary procedures and Labour-Management Councils
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and conflict-resolution skills, with sound judgment and discretion
  • Ability to independently discuss sensitive matters and provide written reports to global stakeholders
  • Fluent level in English

Preferred Requirements:

  • Korean labour attorney qualification or relevant certification
  • Proven experience handling labour unions and collective bargaining
  • Strong experience supporting retail or store employees; candidates from other industries with relevant ER expertise are welcome
