[제조/법률] Head of Legal & Compliance
A Head of Legal & Compliance role is now open in an international construction technology company. The chosen applicant will lead legal, compliance, risk, and governance, advising leadership and managing compliance, risk, and disputes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clear, timely, and actionable legal guidance to the General Manager and the leadership team, as well as to the sales and marketing teams
- Translate legal risks into practical options and recommendations
- Take ownership of legal matters, including next steps, timelines, and outcomes
- Lead the review and drafting, and support the negotiations, including sales, services, direct/indirect sourcing, distributor and marketing agreements
- Ensure contracts are commercially balanced, appropriately risk assessed, aligned with the company contract risk management policies, while meeting local law requirements
- Set and defend acceptable risk positions and deviations, escalating where required
- Serve as the Local Compliance Officer for the company and guide management and employees on complying with the group policies
- Drive implementation, training and enforcement of the Code of Conduct and other group compliance policies
- Lead or support investigations and disciplinary processes in a structured, fair, and timely manner, coordinating with the company's Management and Regional Compliance
- Proactively identify and manage legal and compliance risks affecting the company
- Design, implement, and improve processes to address identified and emerging risks
- Escalate material risks, incidents, and policy deviations promptly and clearly to North Asia and Global Legal & Compliance
- Manage litigation, disputes, regulatory inquiries, and investigations involving the company
- Instruct and oversee external counsel with a clear scope, cost discipline, and strategic direction
- Keep management informed of litigation status, risk exposure, and recommended actions
- Partner closely with the North Asia Legal & Compliance team, balancing local execution with global and regional alignment
- Manage corporate secretarial and housekeeping matters and coordinate with external corporate secretarial firms
- Build awareness across the company of the Group compliance, contract risk management, and governance policies
Requirements:
- Law degree (JD, LLM, or equivalent)
- Admission to practice law in Korea or a common law jurisdiction
- More than 10 years of post-qualification experience, including substantial in-house experience
- Experience advising senior management in a commercial environment
- Fluent level English and Korean
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with EPC/project-related contracts (product supplier or service provider side) and familiarity with Korean competition and subcontracting regulations
