Online and Gaming Sector Leads South Korea’s Hiring Activity - Robert Walters Global Salary Survey

Robert Walters has released its Global Salary Survey 2015. Now in its 16th edition, the annual report gives an insight on global and South Korean recruitment trends as well as salary levels by role and sector.

The 2015 Salary Survey reveals that the South Korean recruitment market has remained reasonably positive, with the online and gaming sectors being particularly active with their hiring.

Sector Highlights from the South Korea section:

Activity was limited in Banking and Financial Services, especially in back-office transaction roles since these positions continue to be centralised offshore although we have seen some signs in 2015 so far that the financial services market overall is beginning to pick up.

Companies are likely to focus on filling HR specialist consultancy roles in 2015, which should lift the salary level by around 10%.

The Online and Gaming sector saw high demand for country managers, given the emergence of new companies in this sector in Seoul. Additionally, cloud solution architects and designers were sought after, as many of the large tech companies prepared for cloud technology.

In the Consumer and Retail sector, the strong demand has been for candidates with good digital marketing experience and could expect salary increments of 20% in order to meet rising demands for online shopping.
